NSIT College Orientation
On Opening Day, Saturday, September 20th, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., NSIT will host O-Fest, the networking and IT orientation for College students and their parents. After checking in at Orientation Registration at the Reynolds Club and receiving your appointment card, you should come over to the NSIT O-Fest for the following:
- Get your University of Chicago ID Card (UCID) and Chicago Network ID (CNetID) if you have not already claimed it. You MUST bring your appointment card and a picture ID (driver's license or passport). Chicago ID Card Issuance will be available until 6 p.m.
- Pick up your NSIT welcome packet, which contains your NSIT Connectivity Package CD and some other important documentation.
- Consult with NSIT staff to ensure that you have the appropriate computer hardware and software to utilize the features of the campus data network and the Internet.
- Take the opportunity to purchase recommended computer bundles.
- Learn how to use the campus network.
- Learn about available NSIT support services, such as computing clusters and technical support.
Then, visit the NSIT Orientation tents for food, music, and the chance to win some cool prizes.
