Recommendations

Computer Recommendations

Most students at the University use computers for sending and receiving email, writing papers, accessing the web, creating presentations, other applications, and occasionally games. (Please refer to the U of C's Eligibility & Acceptable Use Policy section at http://www.uchicago.edu/docs/policies/eaup.)

In order to assist you in finding a computer that best suits your needs, the NSIT Solution Center has chosen both a Dell Latitude Notebook and an Apple Macbook. These meet the needs of the typical University user. Some computer users may wish to upgrade the configurations to meet their own specific needs. Please call the Solution Center for upgrade options. Desktop recommendations are available for online viewing.

Recommended bundles will be available for purchase during the NSIT Orientation. The standard recommendation is currently supported by the NSIT Technical Support staff. Recommendations are updated about every four months. Updated recommendations and pricing are available at http://nsit.uchicago.edu/services/sales/pricelists/index.php. Prices are subject to change without notice.
